Publication Ethics

 

JPronus is a journal administered and published by LP2M Muslim University of Nusantara Al Washliyah Medan. JPronus is an educational journal for researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students, all of which are ojs-based and indexed in a number of indexes.
The ethics of this scientific publication is a statement of the ethical code of all parties involved in the publication process of the scientific journal, namely the administrators, editors, bestari partners, and authors. (author). The Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values in publication, namely: (i) Neutrality, that is, free from conflict of interest in the management of publications; (ii) Justice, that gives the right of hearing to the author; and (iii) Honesty, that means free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

The duties and responsibilities of the Journal Manager

Determine the name of the journal, its academic scope, richness, and accreditation where necessary;

1. Determining the membership of the board of editors;

2. Defining the relationship between the publisher, editor, bestari partner, and other parties to a contract;

3. Appreciate secrecy, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and best-seller partners;

4. Implement norms and provisions relating to intellectual property rights, in particular copyright;

5. Review the policy of the journal and communicate it to the authors, board of editors, bestseller partners, and readers;

6. Create a code of conduct for editors and bestari partners;

7. Publish the journal regularly;

8. Ensure the availability of funds for the sustainability of the publication of the journal;

9. Build a network of collaboration and marketing; and

10. Prepare licensing and other legal aspects.

Task and Responsibilities of the Journal Editor

Meet the needs of readers and writers;

1. Efforts to improve the quality of publication continuously;

2. Implement processes to guarantee the high quality of written work published;

3. Advance freedom of opinion objectively;

4. Maintain the integrity of academic tracks of authors;

5. Submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary;

6.Responsible for the style and format of written work, while the content and all statements in written work are the responsibility of the author;

7.Actively seek the opinion of authors, readers, bestari partners, and members of the board of editors to improve the quality of publication;

8. Encourage to make assessments of journals when there are findings;

9. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach forms of ethical clearance approved by the Ethical Clearance Commission;

10. Support initiative to educate researchers about publication ethics;

11. Study the impact of publishing policies on the attitude of bestari writers and partners and correct them to increase accountability and minimize errors;

12.Have an open mind to new opinions or other people's opinions that may conflict with personal opinions;

13. Do not defend your own opinions, authors, or third parties that may lead to an unobjective decision; and Encourage the author, so that he can correct the written work to be properly published.

Tasks and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners (Peer-Reviewer)

Obtains the task of the editor to examine the written work and submit its pronunciation to the editor as a material for determining the eligibility of a written work for publication;

1. Do not examine the written work involving him, either directly or indirectly;

2. Keep the author's confidentiality by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations on the manuscript he is examining;

3. Encourage the author to improve his manuscript;

4. Reexamine the corrected manuscript according to the established standards; and

5. Study the manuscript in a timely manner according to the style of the journal and based on scientific principles (data collection methods, authors legality, conclusion drawings, etc.).

Author's Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that the list of authors meets the criteria as authors

1. Collectively responsible for the work and contents of the manuscript/articles covering the methods, analysis, calculations, and details thereof;

2. Specify the origin of the resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly;

3. Explain the limitations of research;

4. Respond professionally and in a timely manner to comments made by the bestari partners;

5. Inform the editor of the withdrawal of his written work.
