DOCUMENTATION VIDEOS FROM THE BIMO K.A YOUTUBE CHANNEL AS A SOURCE OF INFORMATION FROM PUBLIC HISTORY

Abstract

Public history becomes an approach by providing information to the public outside academia. For historians who often discuss public history do it by using communication media such as youtube. That way using media with youtube platform can watch through audio visuals such as documentation. This trend from public history follows the development of the era that has been digitized and made it a digital product. This study used qualitative descriptive methods. For data collection is done by collecting articles and books related to the title of the discussion. The focus of this research is the use of youtube, especially youtube channel Bimo K.A who uploaded a historical documentation video in the form of videos from pre-independence to post-independence Indonesia. The results of this study that can make it as an alternative means for the wider community who can watch documentary videos to build an awareness of the history of the Indonesian nation.
