Electronic journal: JP2SH is a journal managed and published by LP2M Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al Washliyah Medan. The journals were first published in March 2016. JP2SH is a journal in the fields of education, social and research results. The journals are intended for researchers, teachers, practitioners, and students. All journals are OJS-based and indexed by several indexers. This scientific publication ethics is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values ​​in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; (ii) Justice, which is giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.

Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities :

Determine the journal name, scope of science, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary;

Determine the membership of the editorial board;
Define the relationship between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract;
Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and peer reviewers;
Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright;
Review journal policies and convey them to authors, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers;
Create a code of conduct guide for editors and peer reviewers;
Publish journals regularly;
Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication;
Build a network of cooperation and marketing; and
Prepare permits and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Editors:

Meeting the needs of readers and authors;

Efforts to continuously improve the quality of publications;
Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published papers;
Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively;
Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record;
Submitting corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary;
Being responsible for the style and format of the paper, while the content and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author;
Actively soliciting opinions from authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications;
Encouraging journal assessments if there are findings;
Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an ethical clearance form that has been approved by the Ethical Clearance Commission;
Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics;
Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and peer reviewers and improving them to increase responsibility and minimize errors;
Having an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions;
Not defending one's own opinions, authors, or third parties that may result in non-objective decisions; and encourage authors to improve their written work until it is worthy of publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Peer-Reviewers:

Receive assignments from the editor to review written works and submit their reviews to the editor as material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication;

Do not review written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly;
Maintain the confidentiality of the author by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations for the manuscripts they review;
Encourage authors to improve their manuscripts;
Review revised written works according to predetermined standards; and
Review manuscripts in a timely manner in accordance with the journal's environmental style and based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, drawing conclusions, etc.).

Author Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors;

Be collectively responsible for the work and content of the manuscript/article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details;
State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly;
Explain limitations in the research;
Respond to comments made by peer reviewers in a professional and timely manner;
Inform the editor if they will withdraw their paper; and
