TRADISI CABUR BULUNG PADA ETNIS KARO DI DESA DALAN NAMAN KECAMATAN KUALA KABUPATEN LANGKAT

Abstract
Cabur Bulung originates from two words, namely Cabur and Bulung. Chabur means scattering, while bulung means leaves. So, the definition of cabur bulung is spreading the leaves or scattering the leaves. Not all Karo ethnic groups can carry out this cabur bulung tradition, but those who speak impal can be cast out. Impal which is the designation for the Karo ethnicity, that it is recommended to marry within the Karo ethnicity. The purpose of this research is to describe the background of the Cabur Bulung tradition, to describe the procedures for implementing it and to analyze the impact of the Cabur Bulung tradition. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the research revealed that this tradition started with a child who experienced an illness that did not go away. The previous parents said that the child had to be brought to the aunt's/mama's house to be bullied. The implementation of this tradition includes instructions from smart people, meeting impal families, deliberations, taking children to mama/aunt's house, dowry, words of advice, guro-guro drums, eating together. There are two impacts after the implementation of the tradition, namely positive and negative impacts.
