Abstract

This article discusses the novelty and quantitative methods in researching the relationship between cultural value orientation, motivation, and limitations in achieving academic goals. The discussion is intended to answer doubts about the use of quantitative methods in Anthropology. Socio-cultural problems cannot be taken lightly because the problems that arise in society can be a social disaster for society both micro and macro.... Cultural value orientation is one of the topics related to socio-cultural problems. By understanding the orientation of cultural values, researchers can recognize and study socio-cultural problems. Anthropology as one of the sciences has methods used to study various problems. There are doubts from researchers outside anthropology and even within anthropology itself regarding the methods that can be used in various studies even though there are various publications that provide examples of using methods in anthropological research. The researcher analyzed the bibliography by collecting data from various sources such as books, articles and other relevant and valid sources. The researcher used Publish or Perish. Articles and sources found were then assessed using the help of vos viewer version 1.6.19 and finally interpreted and concluded. The results show that the relationship between cultural value orientation, motivation, and limitations in achieving academic goals can be studied using quantitative.
