Main Article Content
Abstract
Islamic education has an important role in shaping the character and ecological awareness of the younger generation. This article aims to explore how environment-based Islamic education can be an effective instrument in building ecological awareness through the integration of Islamic values. Through a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the curriculum, teaching methods, and school activities that are oriented towards environmental conservation from an Islamic perspective. The results of the study show that Islamic values such as amanah (responsibility), caliph (leadership), and ihsan (kindness) can be internalized in the educational process to create deep ecological awareness. Thus, environment-based Islamic education not only contributes to nature conservation but also strengthens the faith and piety of students. This article suggests further integration of environmental values in the Islamic education curriculum as a strategic effort to address the global environmental crisis.
