Abstract
In the modern era, the role of entrepreneurship is crucial in driving the economic development of a country, especially through the small and medium scale business unit sector. The research conducted aims to analyze the self-reliance factors that affect the interest of pesantren students in entrepreneurship. With a quantitative approach, data were obtained through a survey involving 176 students of Pesantren Persis Tarogong, Garut, West Java. The analysis shows that self-reliance has a significant positive impact on students' entrepreneurial interest, with an R² value of 31.8%. This indicates a correlation between increased self-reliance and students' interest in entrepreneurship. The variance test also strengthens the significance of this effect (p < 0.001). Based on these results, boarding schools are advised to develop educational programs that focus on strengthening independence, including management and decision-making skills, to support students in starting a business. Further research is needed to explore other factors that may influence entrepreneurial interest in the pesantren environment.
