Abstrak
In this modern era, the Islamic world in Indonesia faces serious challenges related to the regeneration of scholars. Over time, there has been a noticeable bottleneck in the process of regenerating authentic and qualified ulama. This phenomenon has opened up space for the birth of celebrity ulama, who are often known more for their popularity on social media than for their depth of knowledge and Islamic integrity. Islamic education in Indonesia needs to revisit the approaches and methodologies used in producing future scholars. This research is based on book research so it examines various references to find the results. Based on this research, an education system is needed that not only emphasises academic and intellectual aspects, but also the formation of strong character and morals in accordance with Islamic teachings. True scholars are those who have a high commitment to knowledge, noble character, and social responsibility. The phenomenon of celebrity clerics raises questions about the authenticity and legitimacy of their knowledge. Although they are able to attract public attention, they often lack depth of understanding and sincerity in spreading religious knowledge. This could potentially damage the image of the true ulama and confuse the ummah in understanding the true teachings of Islam.
