Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations by researchers at SDN 067092 Medan which shows the low student learning outcomes in the thematic learning of clean air for health. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by using the problem based learning model method. The research was conducted on fifth grade students at SDN 067092 Medan with a total of 25 students. This study uses classroom action research (CAR) which is equipped with instruments consisting of observation sheets and interviews of teacher activities and student tests. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results of the research conducted indicate that the use of problem based learning learning models can improve student learning outcomes. Improved learning outcomes occur in each cycle both before learning (pretest) and after learning (posttest). In the first cycle obtained a success rate of 52%. While in the second cycle the students obtained a success rate of 88% which was in accordance with what was desired. Thus, it can be said that the application of the problem based learning model can improve student learning outcomes on the theme of clean air for health.

Berdasarkan hasil data yang telah dicapai pada siklus I dan siklus II sudah mencapai ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa, pencapaian peningkatan pada siklus I 52% dari siklus II 88%. Jadi peningkatannya yaitu 36%.
