Abstrak

The community service program, conducted by Group 009 in Sumur Welut Village, RW 03, focused on planting 25 fruit trees as an effort to improve food security and environmental preservation. This program was implemented using a participatory action research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active community participation in every stage of the activity. The planting of fruit trees, including mango, guava, starfruit, longan, avocado, and soursop, was carried out on vacant land with potential for development, providing ecological benefits such as improved air quality, carbon sequestration, temperature reduction, and improved soil fertility. Furthermore, the presence of fruit trees creates opportunities to utilize the harvest as a source of healthy food and the potential for economic development for residents through garden-based MSMEs. This program also strengthens social values such as mutual cooperation, solidarity, and a sense of environmental ownership. The results of the activity indicate that the fruit tree planting not only creates new green space but also serves as a model for sustainable, environmentally-based community empowerment that can be replicated in other areas with similar characteristics.
