Abstract
Scar issues on the skin are one of the health concerns that are often overlooked in rural communities, including in Situmbaga Village, South Angkola District. Access to safe and effective commercial skincare products is limited, leaving the community reliant on traditional treatments, which may not always be effective. In an effort to empower the community and utilize the potential of local natural ingredients, training was conducted on the production of scar removal cream based on Areca Nut Seeds and Pineapple Stems. Areca Nut Seeds contain tannins that can accelerate wound healing, while Pineapple Stems contain the enzyme bromelain, which acts as an anti-inflammatory and aids in skin regeneration. This activity aimed to provide technical skills to the residents of Situmbaga Village, especially women and youth, in producing safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly scar removal cream. The training was conducted through demonstration and hands-on practice methods. The results of the training showed that participants could easily follow the cream-making process and produce a product of good quality. Moreover, this training also opened up micro-business opportunities based on natural cosmetics for the community. The training not only enhanced participants' knowledge of the benefits of natural ingredients but also contributed to local economic empowerment efforts. It is hoped that with further support, this natural cream product can be developed into a commercial product that can be marketed more widely.
