Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempermudah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal bilangan kuadrat pada siswa kelas VII. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dari berbagai sekolah di kota Medan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah test tertulis, wawancara dan juga dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan cara penyajian data dalam bentuk hasil perolehan kecepatan waktu pengerjaan siswa serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecepatan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal bilangan kuadrat dengan cara konvensional memperoleh rata-rata pengerjaan 40 detik per siswa sedangkan untuk kecepatan penyelesaian jawaban soal dengan cara cepat memperoleh rata-rata kecepatan 25 detik per siswanya dengan jawaban yang sudah dipastikan benar.
