PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS ETNOMATEMATIKA DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR DAN ASPEK KOGNITIF SISWA

Abstract
Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di SMP Swasta Methodist Pantai Labu, masih banyak kekurangan dalam memahami pembelajaran terutama pada materi jual beli, siswa masih mengalami ketidaktertarikan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, sehingga hasil yang diperoleh masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan secara signifikan minat belajar dan aspek kognitif serta mengetahui interaksi penerapan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dalam aspek kognitif terhadap minat belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan design true eksperimental, dengan sampel diambil secara random purposive sebanyak 60 sampel di SMP Swasta Methodist Pantai Labu kelas VII, dengan menggunakan dua kelas penelitian. Dengan demikian teknik analisa data menggunakan Anava 2 x 2 dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan tes objektif dan angket skala Likert. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah (a) penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan signifikan minat belajar siswa; (b) penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan secara signifikan aspek kognitif siswa dan (c) ada interaksi penerapan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dalam aspek kognitif terhadap minat belajar siswa. Dalam hal ini juga diketahui bahwa pembelajaran berbasis etnomatika, memberikan kesempatan siswa dalam mengenal dan memahami pembelajaran matermatika terutama pada materi jual beli.
