Pengaruh Media Sosial Terhadap Kontrol Diri Siswa Kelas VIII di MTs Al Ikhlasiyah Sei Buluh
Abstract
This research aims to investigate the influence of social media on the self- control of eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Ikhlasiyah Sei Buluh in the academic year 2022/2023. The easy and comprehensive accessibility of social media can make students easily influenced by negative impacts, necessitating self-control. The research design is a quantitative experiment focusing on the analysis of numerical data. Primary data were obtained through questionnaire surveys completed by eighth- grade students at MTs Al-Ikhlasiyah Sei Buluh in the academic year 2022/2023, comprising 90 students. Random sampling technique was employed, with 32 students as the research sample. The results of simple linear regression analysis showed a significance value < 0.05, indicating that variable x influences variable y. Conversely, if the significance value > 0.05, it means that variable x does not affect variable y. From the output, it is known that the calculated F value is 379.483 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the social media variable (X) influences the self- control of students (Y).
