Abstract
The metals industry is essential for manufacturing various products, but it also poses serious risks to workers' health. Hazards in this industry include exposure to toxic chemicals, metal dust, and the potential for physical injury. Heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium can cause poisoning, nervous system disorders, and cancer. Metal dust from processing and welding can lead to respiratory issues. Occupational accidents are a concern, especially with heavy machinery and electrical equipment. Preventive measures, such as personal protective equipment and safe work procedures, are crucial to minimizing health risks. PT Elang Jagad, a metalworking company, is taking steps to identify hazards and health risks among its workers and is promoting occupational safety and health through educational materials and discussions. Measures to increase workers' awareness of hazards and health risks are being evaluated through pre- and post-intervention interviews.
