Abstract
The literacy movement is a program that the government is actively socializing in an effort to increase the national human development index, one of which is scientific literacy. The implementation of the Community Service program in Tanjung Medan Village aims to stimulate increased scientific literacy skills in the community, especially the people of Tanjung Medan Village. The service is carried out using a social engineering approach in the form of direct socialization and training. Several types of training were carried out such as making liquid organic fertilizer by utilizing animal manure and also the roots of the shy daughter. This is proven to increase the ability of community literacy. This can be seen by comparing the results of the pre-service pre-test and post-test after the implementation of the community service activities, where the ability of the community's scientific literacy increases after they follow the material presented by resource persons in socialization activities and hands-on practice/training in community service activities. The local community hopes that this activity can be carried out on an ongoing basis in order to add insight and knowledge that can be utilized by the community in increasing their capacity in their respective professions.
